Purdue University – Purdue Memorial Union HVAC Renovation
R.E. Dimond and Associates designed modifications to the existing HVAC system in the Memorial Union. This project includes installing a 4-pipe fan coil system in the west end main floor lounge areas. Chilled and heating water piping was installed in the sub-basement and run vertically to the upper floors within walls. New wood enclosures were built to enclose the fan coil units and blend into the traditional detail of the space.
This project added a heating water system to replace the existing antiquated steam condensate pumps and also added a chilled water pump and re-route existing chilled water feeds in the attic.
The Great Hall received a dedicated single zone air handling unit, which is located in the attic.
