Indiana’s leading mechanical and plumbing design consulting engineers

Plumbing systems with a “whole building” approach

High-performance and environmentally-focused designs are key in affecting water efficiency, pollution systems, and providing a sustainable site.  With our forty-five years of experience, your team and building can benefit from plumbing assessments, recommend alternatives, and new integrated systems that meet specific objectives.

More important for your bottom line, we can identify new ways to conserve water, lower your utility costs, and assist in conserving natural resources.

  • Well building design
  • Septic field design
  • Medical gas systems
  • Process water systems
  • Reverse osmosis and deionized water
  • Science laboratories
  • Fueling stations

When electrical systems meet plumbing engineering services

Your building’s water systems have just as many innovative solutions and are just as critical in sustainable design

Energy costs are one of the most sought building savings. Years of campaigns to switch light bulbs and install energy-saving motion sensors and lighting systems have made saving on electricity costs a source of pride and savings for higher education, schools, healthcare facilities, industrial projects, commercial buildings, and other municipal government or large building projects.

Our plumbing engineers and designers have knowledge and experience in electrical integration through low flow and sensor-operated faucets, mixing valves, and water heating equipment throughout our services portfolio.

When planning your building’s water and plumbing needs, we set high expectations. We specialize in domestic and potable water systems that protect public health. Fire suppression, filtration, mechanical, cleaning, and even landscape irrigation keep buildings practical, on budget, and safe for every customer and client.

Low-flow water systems have improved dramatically over the last decade

Chosen and installed correctly, efficient low-flow fixtures like water heaters, boilers, and circulation systems stop water — and money — from going down the drain without frustrating customers or clients.

Paired with alternative fuels such as wind, solar, and bio-diesel, many water systems can heat and cool water with even better resource management. This intersection of electrical, mechanical, and building plumbing systems is where R.E. Dimond and Associates shine.

And when you do need wastewater, stormwater, or sewage to flow down the drain, R.E. Dimond engineers keep these critical building systems at the forefront of projects.

Our plumbing engineers begin by identifying paths and points of contact from your building’s sewer system to containment or disposal, offsite or on-location, with separate or common building waste streams. New development in stormwater technology can also efficiently move water away from your structure before it damages your foundation or other infrastructure.

FAQs about plumbing design services

What sort of project management can we expect?

R.E. Dimond and Associates is unique among engineering firms in Indiana. We begin with a full analysis of your existing building, if any, then a conceptual design of proposed plumbing solutions. We’re often called upon after a project has started because of our long history and expertise in getting projects back on schedule and on budget.

Do I need a full consulting engineering firm instead of a plumber?

Possibly. R.E. Dimond is a mechanical engineering and plumbing (MEP) services firm based in Indianapolis. As one example, our expertise in all building systems, not just plumbing and water, means the alarms hooked into your fire suppression system also have the right energy flow to power them through emergencies. Or the staff in a commercial kitchen aren’t exposed to dangers from grease, gas leaks, or water leaks that might cause fire or a slip and fall.

Can you help our building meet LEED or other certifications?
