Now hiring for a Construction Administration (CA) Project Manager
Are you looking for an opportunity to apply your knowledge of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, or telecommunications systems beyond design alone?
At R.E. Dimond and Associates, our Construction Administration Department serves as the bridge between engineering design and successful project execution. We work closely with owners, contractors, architects, and our internal engineering teams to help ensure building systems are installed in accordance with the design intent and project requirements.
This position is ideal for someone with experience in MEPT engineering, construction administration, commissioning, facilities, or building systems who enjoys problem-solving, field observation, coordination, and working with project teams throughout construction.
As a member of our Construction Administration team, you will play a key role in helping schools, universities, municipal facilities, healthcare facilities, and commercial buildings move successfully from construction documents to completed projects.
What You’ll Do
Working under the direction of the Construction Administration Department Head and Project Managers, you will support projects throughout the construction phase by serving as a liaison between the design team, owner, and contractor.
Responsibilities include:
- Reviewing construction documents and specifications to verify coordination between engineering discipline
- Facilitating construction kickoff meetings and preparing meeting agendas and meeting minutes
- Managing and tracking submittals, shop drawings, and product data for review by the engineering team
- Managing and tracking Requests for Information (RFIs)
- Assisting with the preparation and distribution of Architect’s Supplemental Instructions (ASIs) and Engineer’s Supplemental Instructions (ESIs)
- Reviewing payment applications and assisting with certification of contractor pay requests
- Reviewing and evaluating potential change order requests
- Attending construction progress meetings and documenting project status
- Conducting field observations and preparing field reports documenting construction progress and installation of building systems
- Participating in punch list reviews and project closeout activities
- Reviewing operation and maintenance manuals, record documents, and closeout documentation
- Maintaining project records and supporting internal project cost tracking
- Traveling to project sites throughout Indiana to document existing conditions and observe construction progress
What You Bring
- Experience with mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, telecommunications, commissioning, facilities management, consulting engineering, or construction administration
- Understanding of commercial and institutional building systems
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and construction documents
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel
- Familiarity with construction administration and project management software such as Newforma, PlanGrid, e-Builder, Procore, or similar platforms is beneficial
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with engineers, architects, contractors, and owners
- Willingness to visit active construction sites and comply with required safety protocols
