Building Project Summary:
R.E. Dimond was proud to be selected to join the design team for Liberty Fund’s new headquarters in Carmel, Indiana which centers around a library of special collections.
R.E. Dimond provided the MEP design for an energy efficient geothermal water source system with heat pumps and energy recovery units. Challenges included the discovery of an unanticipated quantity of on site limestone when installing 75 geothermal wells, while an unusually high water table provided benefits for geothermal design. Geothermal estimated payback is 20 years and the project was designed to LEED Silver.
Electrical services included design of LED lighting and control systems throughout the building, standby power and fire alarm systems which included a waterless fire suppression system for library with humidity control.
The two-story glass clad new building holds offices, a conference center, the library and a cafeteria surrounded by an interior courtyard.
Liberty Fund is a non-profit foundation that promotes a deeper understanding of liberty around the world.
