Building Project Summary:
R.E. Dimond & Associates has worked with Brownsburg School Corporation since 1996. Projects have ranged from feasibility studies to complete removal and replacement of mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems to a completely new 247,000 SF building
R.E. Dimond & Associates was chosen to design the mechanical, electrical, plumbing and fire protection systems for the 42,000 square foot Natatorium addition and 22,000 square foot Fine Arts Building renovation. The design used heat reclaim units to heat pool water and the installation of radiant floor heating systems to maximize comfort. Also included were the complete piping and equipment layout for the pool pump room and associated pool piping. This project established campus standard for future upgrades and new building control systems.
Measures Implemented:
- Natatorium lighting design included indirect lighting located in such a way as to provide proper light distribution, but keep lights where they can be serviced without being directly over water.
- Natatorium design included all pool piping, pumps, heater, chemical treatment and filter systems.
- The HVAC system included package heat pump units which dehumidify the pool area and reject the heat into the pool water.
- A complete locker room design was included adjacent to the natatorium.
