Under the direction of the Project Manager, the Mechanical engineer applies Mechanical theory to design and specify HVAC systems and system processes, completes energy code compliance documentation and energy analysis as required, participates in coordination meetings with design team members and clients, corresponds with vendors and contractors, performs site surveys, observes construction projects, edits specifications, and reviews submittals

  • Knowledgeable of HVAC systems and RE Dimond Specifications
  • Coordinate clearances and fit for all MEPT systems.
  • Calculate HVAC load estimates for various spaces, building, and processes.
  • Conduct site surveys and prepare reports and studies.
  • Prepare construction cost estimates.
  • Design air distribution systems.
    o Ductwork design, layout, and sizing.
    o Grille, registers, and diffuser selections.
    o Central air handling unit, and terminal unit selections.
  • Design hydronic, steam and refrigeration systems.
    o Piping design, layout, and sizing.
    o Central plant and equipment selections.
  • Design and specify building automation control systems.
  • Complete continuing education requirements to maintain licensure.
  • Proficient using Codes and Standards (International Building Code, International Mechanical Code, ASHRAE, NFPA)
  • Proficient or actively learning REVIT

  • Assist with preparing construction cost estimates.
  • Design air distribution and hydronic systems under supervision of Mechanical Engineer.
  • Ductwork design, layout, and sizing.
  • Grille, registers, and diffuser selections.
  • Piping design, layout, and sizing.
  • Assist with central air handling unit, and terminal unit selections.
