Construction Completion
2019 on-going
Building Project Summary:
Union Hospital’s Capital Improvement plan required the replacement of boilers and chillers. R.E. Dimond and Associates provided plans and specifications to upgrade the boiler plant by removing two outdated boilers and replacing six high-efficiency condensing boilers. Additionally, R.E. Dimond and Associates provided documents for installing two new chillers: 1500 ton Chiller and a 325 Chiller.
Challenges included integrating the new chillers with previously installed water-cooled chillers and controls following hospital guidelines and standards. In addition, the new chillers were designed for safety with automatic start-up should the existing chiller fail.
The Bone and Joint room renovation provided new X-ray services, and a specialty pharmacy converted from a coffee shop to an oncology pharmacy.
