Building Project Summary:
R.E. Dimond and Associates was contracted to provide the HVAC, power, lighting and technology design services for the relocation of Rolls Royce to the Farris Campus in downtown Indianapolis. The project consisted of two buildings: one 6 story building and one 7 story building. The buildings together total 350,000 SF. The construction was phased to allow a phased move in started in January, 2012 and completed June, 2012.
The renovation consisted of establishing an agile work environment for these buildings. Also included were conference rooms; (2) 24 hour call centers, break rooms, rest rooms and auxiliary spaces. It was necessary to provide backup power to the technology systems in each building: one 400 KW diesel generator with automatic transfer switch and a 200kVA UPS with internal maintenance bypass; and one 300 KW diesel generator with automatic transfer switch and a 100kVA UPS with internal maintenance bypass.
The buildings contain between 190 and 250 workstations per floor. Along with agile workstations, small group collaborative areas and individual focus booths are provided on each floor.
