Restoration of Fire Damaged Jefferson County Courthouse
On May 20, 2009, fire struck the Jefferson County Courthouse in Madison, Indiana which was nearing the completion of a large scale renovation. The Courthouse, which is part of a National Historic Landmark District, suffered extensive fire and water damage. The Jefferson County Commissioners hired American Structurepoint and their team which included: historic preservation consultant Architecture Trio, Inc., MEP engineer R.E. Dimond and Associates, Inc., and Edificio Specifications, Inc. to provide the design for the restoration of the structure.
R.E. Dimond and Associates provided the design of the mechanical and plumbing systems as well as the power and lighting design and worked closely with the architect and historic preservationist to succeed in restoring the historic fabric of the building.
