Mechanical System Renovation of Crestview Hall
R.E. Dimond and Associates designed the replacement of the mechanical systems at Crestview Hall, one of the original academic buildings on the Indiana University Southeast campus in New Albany, Indiana.
Upgrades to the mechanical systems included replacing the existing inefficient electric resistance heating systems with new efficient heating water equipment. This required the installation of a new heating water plant, including pumps and boilers. Upgrades also included the replacement of the existing air handling units, chilled water pump and controls.
Plumbing upgrades included extending a new gas service for the boilers and replacing the domestic water backflow preventers.
Upgrades to the electrical systems included replacing the existing lighting with efficient LED light fixtures throughout the building and installation of a new transfer switch to provide emergency power for all life safety devices.
R.E. Dimond worked with http://www.arcdesign.com to replace the existing ceilings throughout the building, including the wood panel ceilings in entryways that have become a signature feature for buildings on the IU Southeast campus.
