Building Project Summary:
R.E. Dimond and Associates designed the mechanical, electrical, plumbing and fire protection systems for this addition to the 136-year-old IU School of Dentistry. The James J. Fritts, DDS Clinical Care Center is a contemporary dental teaching facility including 125 state-of-the-art operatories.
Mechanical systems include steam and chilled water systems with dual-duct VAV boxes serving heating and cooling needs of the building. In addition to domestic water and sanitary systems, the plumbing design includes medical compressed air, medical vacuum system with amalgam separators, and reverse osmosis water purification system distributed to each operatory.
Electrical systems included LED lighting and controls, emergency and standby power distribution, lighting protection and grounding systems and fire alarm systems.
