Building Project Summary:
Complete remodel of University Hall.
The College of Education building was completely renovated. In addition to the typical renovation work, this remodel included enclosing an interior courtyard with an elaborate skylight structure. R.E. Dimond & Associates provided the mechanical, electrical and plumbing design for this building. The building is approximately 200,000 square feet.
Measures Implemented:
Because of space limitations, the air handling unit was located in the basement of the building in a space that was not appropriate for other uses. Part of this space was previously used as a mechanical room to service the building. The air handling unit was custom designed by Dimond and Associates and is a variable air volume system that can handle up to a maximum of 110,000CFM. The exhaust fans for the system are located in a penthouse on the roof.
